Film Recommendation: Wine and War

Wine & War is an engaging documentary about the history and relationship of winemaking and war in Lebanon. From commentary by Lebanese winemakers, global wine experts and the author of the book the movie is based off of, viewers receive a closer look at the interplay between wars, conflict, civil unrest and winemaking in the country and the region. The personal stories from the winemakers are tender, touching and tremendously empowering. The film does a beautiful job highlighting the complexity of war to the simple act of sugar and yeast. Grab a bottle of Lebanese wine and sip your way through this fascinating documentary.
